Part 1.1: The Core Theory of The Triadic Principle

I. Introduction: Seeking a Bridge to Connect the Archipelago of Knowledge

Since the Age of Reason, human intellect has achieved dazzling progress, but at the cost of severe fragmentation. Science explored the objective material world, philosophy the subjective realm of thought, and religion and spirituality the transcendent domain of meaning—each like an isolated island, probing its own territory. Yet, they failed to build bridges to one another.

This epistemological schism has ultimately led to the modern existential crisis of ‘loss of meaning’ and ‘alienation of being.’ Is it possible, then, to discover a universal principle that can connect this scattered archipelago of knowledge and paint an integrated, meaningful picture of the universe and ourselves?

This treatise argues that this unifying principle lies in ‘The Center (Jung),’ the source of Symmetry and the origin of creation. This symmetry, discovered by physicists as the language describing nature’s fundamental laws and by mathematicians as the form of pure order, bears a striking resemblance to the principle of Yin and Yang used by ancient Eastern sages to explain the workings of the Dao.

We regard this symmetry as the fundamental principle of existence and change engraved in the deepest depths of spacetime and being—in other words, the ‘Grammar of Being.’ Through this lens, we aim to comprehensively elucidate the creation, structure, and transformation of the universe, and define the rightful place of humanity within it.

II. The Principle of the Origin: ‘Nothingness (Mu)’ as Perfect Symmetry and ‘Divine Darkness’

Where did everything begin? What is the state before the Big Bang? The Cheonbu-gyeong, arguably humanity’s oldest scripture, proclaims its majestic beginning with the phrase Il-Si-Mu-Si-Il” (One is the begining; from Nothingness begins One).

As interpreted by His Holiness Ahn Gyeong-jeon, the supreme authority on the Cheonbu-gyeong, this holds the profound meaning: “Everything began from the ‘One,’ the fundamental substance of cosmic creation, but that One originated from ‘Nothingness (Mu),’ the primordial source without beginning or end.”

Eastern wisdom called this ‘Nothingness’ Mugeuk (The Limitless / Ultimate Void)—a place where language and discrimination cease—and referred to the cosmic spirit inherent within it, which creates, nurtures, and governs all things, as Samshin (The Triune Spirit). In the context of The Triadic Principle, ‘Samshin’ is understood not as the doctrinal god of a specific religion, but as the universal, metaphysical Cosmic Spirit that presides over the order and creation of the universe inherent within ‘The Center.’

Strikingly similar, Pseudo-Dionysius, the fountainhead of Western Christian mysticism, described this as ‘Divine Darkness,’ singing of the Trinity mystically inherent within that silent, “translucent darkness.”

However, the origin pointed to by both Eastern and Western wisdom is by no means a dead, static state. Within it, the vibration of cosmic pure consciousness is already actively at work. It is just that the waves are in such perfect balance that no movement is outwardly visible.

To use the language of modern science as an analogy, it is like a state of ‘destructive interference,’ where a sine wave and its inverse overlap to perfectly cancel each other out. Or, it resembles the vacuum imagined by quantum physics, where countless particles and antiparticles are created and annihilated simultaneously—a state of ‘pair annihilation’ where physically no ripples occur. This is the ‘State of Perfect Symmetry,’ where all conflicting opposites are potentialized but perfectly balanced.

This is like a ‘Living Silence.’ Outwardly still, but inwardly, Yul-ryeo (Cosmic Rhythm)—the pure waves of contraction and expansion—is constantly pulsating. Here, the power that presides over the perfect balance and order of these pure Yin-Yang waves, defining and regulating the inner dynamism behind the apparent stillness, is The Absolute Center (Jung)—the Consciousness of Mugeuk.

Therefore, ‘The Center’ is not merely an empty, static space. It is the primordial Intelligence, Principle (Li), Mind, and Will of the cosmos. It is an active ‘Autonomous Regulating Consciousness’ that holds all possibilities, governs change, and maintains perfect symmetry.

Thus, perfect symmetry is not absolute nothingness, but relative ‘Nothingness’ that presupposes ‘Being’—a ‘Positive Void’ containing all possibilities. It is the condition of possibility for all existence and the fundamental ground of all order. It is the sanctuary where the inherent subject, Samshin (The Cosmic Spirit)—the spirit that gives birth to all things—fully embraces the archetype of the fundamental Principle (Li) within The Primordial Center.
