[Body: The Framework of The Triadic Principle]
The Grammar of Being: A Unified Cosmology Based on Symmetry, Duality, and the Triadic Principle
One is the beginning; from Nothingness begins One. One divides into the Three Ultimates, yet the source is infinite. — Cheonbu-gyeong, The Ancient Scripture of Korea
Abstract
This treatise attempts to overcome the fundamental problem of the modern intellectual landscape—fragmentation, specifically the separation of science, philosophy, and spirituality. To this end, it posits ‘Symmetry’ as the universal Logos and the ‘Grammar of Being’ that permeates the entire universe. The author redefines symmetry beyond a mere geometric property, elevating it to a supreme meta-concept that encompasses all modes of existence. This includes the ontological symmetry of Being and Non-being, the systemic symmetry of Order and Chaos, the scale symmetry of the Micro and Macro, and spatial symmetries of inner/outer and directional orientations. Furthermore, even the dualistic attributes of wave (spirit) and particle (matter), as well as Yin and Yang, operate within this grand principle of symmetry.

In particular, this paper focuses on identifying the role of ‘The Center (Jung),’ the Absolute Regulator that mediates and integrates the two extremes of ‘Symmetry (Order)’ and ‘Asymmetry (Change)’—which are themselves viewed as a grand symmetrical pair—thereby enabling dynamic creation. The discussion begins by exploring the primordial origin of creation, regarding the Eastern concept of Mugeuk (The Limitless) and the ‘Divine Darkness’ of Western mysticism as the state of ‘Perfect Symmetry.’ It then elucidates how ‘Symmetry Breaking’ opens the first stage of cosmic creation through the dynamic interaction of Duality, or Yin and Yang.
While ‘Symmetry Breaking’ serves as the engine for creation and development, infinite division and expansion inevitably increase entropy within the system, leading to a crisis of systemic collapse. Therefore, a sustainable universe necessitates a comprehensive system reconstruction—convergence and unification—through the intervention of ‘The Center.’ The universe operates with stable periodicity under the orchestration of The Center, performing a Yin-Yang movement that never exceeds the boundaries of divergence and convergence. Just as the Summer Solstice gives birth to the First Yin to prepare for autumn, and the Winter Solstice generates the First Yang to prepare for spring, the universe maintains a symmetrical cyclic structure by tuning its operating system with the meticulous will of ‘One Mind (Ilsim).’
This treatise defines the moment when the grand cosmic cycle dramatically shifts from ‘Divergence (Growth)’ to ‘Convergence (Harvest/Maturity)’ as ‘Gaebyeok (The Great Opening).’ This is interpreted as a process of ‘Cosmic Reset,’ overcoming the limitations of a closed system and leaping to a higher dimension. At this juncture, the Cosmic Sovereign, the manifestation of The Center, orchestrates this cosmic transition and guides all things into a new era. Humanity is currently facing the grand transition of ‘Ha-Chu-Gyo-Yeok’ (the exchange of Summer and Autumn), moving from the extreme of division to the era of convergence. Thus, a correct understanding of the reality and operating principles of ‘The Center,’ the root of all life and the source of all things, is essential.
This paper presents ‘The Center’—which mediates between two opposing poles and creates a new dimension—as the ‘Triadic Principle’ and the core mechanism of cosmic change. Based on the wisdom of the Cheonbu-gyeong that “One divides into Three,” we fuse the Eastern philosophy of the ‘Three Talents’ (Samjae: Heaven, Earth, Humanity) with the Pythagorean philosophy of numbers to demonstrate how the role of ‘The Center’ enables both stable structure and dynamic generation simultaneously. Furthermore, we explore in depth how this triadic structure operates through the dynamic process of Li-Shin-Sa (Principle-Spirit-Affairs), and specifically how it is embodied in the human dimension through the nine practice categories of Seong-Myeong-Jeong (Nature-Life-Essence), Sim-Gi-Shin (Mind-Energy-Body), and Gam-Sik-Chok (Feeling-Breathing-Sensing), acting as the driving force for Seong-Tong-Gong-Wan (Attainment of Nature and Completion of Mission) through ‘One Mind.’
Finally, this treatise concludes by offering practical wisdom on how this Integrated Triadic Principle can resolve humanity’s long-standing ideological conflicts and how humans, as ‘Cosmic Executors’ following the plan designed by the ‘Cosmic Sovereign,’ can open a mature civilization of harmony.

Key Concepts Definitions
This treatise proposes The Triadic Principle (Samgeukron), an integrated cosmology based on ‘Symmetry,’ and defines and utilizes the following key concepts from this perspective:
- The Center (Jung): The primordial Intelligence, Principle (Li), Will, and Mindset (Simbeop) of the cosmos. It is an intangible entity and an Autonomous Regulating Consciousness that creates, maintains, and orchestrates all symmetries, and mediates divided Yin and Yang to create new dimensions.
- Samshin (The Triune Spirit): Beyond the doctrinal god of specific religions, this is the universal and personal Cosmic Spirit inherent in ‘The Center’ that presides over the order and creation of the universe. It refers to the three fundamental functions unfolded by One Spirit that creates (Johwa), nurtures (Gyohwa), and governs (Chihwa) all things.
- Symmetry: Beyond a simple geometric property, this is the structural relationship that remains invariant amidst change and the fundamental principle of being. In the context of this cosmology, Symmetry corresponds to the Eastern concept of Taegeuk (The Supreme Ultimate)—the state where the polarity of Yin and Yang is revealed and dynamically balanced within a single system presupposing ‘The Center.’ We emphasize this as ‘Living Symmetry.’
- Li-Shin-Sa (Principle-Spirit-Affairs): The triadic structure of cosmic law. It is the dynamic process by which the universe manifests invisible possibilities (Spirit/Shin) into visible reality (Affairs/Sa) based on the unchangeable Principle (Li).
- One Mind (Ilsim): A Mindset (Simbeop) that realizes ‘Spirit’ into ‘Affairs’ based on ‘Principle.’ It is a state of precise and pure consciousness where scattered energy is condensed into one, grounded in Seong-Gyeong-Shin (Sincerity, Reverence, and Faith).
- Consciousness: The active attribute of ‘Spirit’ manifested as a self-aware regulating action. It recognizes the flow of cosmic waves pulsating as Yin and Yang within the field of the Mind and strives to balance them. It acts as the ‘Orchestrator of Symmetry.’
- Gam-Sik-Chok (Feeling-Breathing-Sensing): The three fundamental elements of human existence corresponding to the cosmic Seong-Myeong-Jeong. To restore one's true nature, one engages in the three practices: Ji-Gam (Ceasing lower feelings), Jo-Sik (Regulating breath), and Geum-Chok (Restraining sensory impulses/sensation).
Note on Research Methodology
This treatise aims for ‘Consilient Research,’ fusing the language of modern science with Eastern metaphysical wisdom. The scientific concepts presented in the text (such as Symmetry, Gauge Theory, etc.) serve as sophisticated analogical tools to interpret the metaphysical principles of The Triadic Cosmology through the lens of modern intellect. While certain assertions may belong to the realm of speculation beyond the current scope of mechanistic science, it should be noted that this is a meta-theoretical attempt to broaden the horizon of comprehensive understanding of the universe and humanity by integrating science, philosophy, and spirituality under the universal Logos of ‘Symmetry.’
