The Signs of Gaebyeok

by autumn wind 2025. 4. 26.

According to the teaching of Jeung San Do, the Later Heaven Gaebyeok (개벽, 開闢) refers to the Great Opening—a cosmic transformation marking the era of cosmic summer and the beginning of cosmic autumn. It is not merely a catastrophe, but a complete renewal of heaven and earth, often preceded by global crises that shake the very foundations of human civilization.
So, today’s world isn’t just chaotic by chance but predestined.
All these global crises are, in fact, signs—echoes of Sangjenim's work of renewing Heaven and Earth.

🌎 “Fire, Flood, and Fever: Signs of the Great Gaebyeok ”

As we witness climate disasters, global conflict, and the rise of new pandemics, many feel that something greater is unfolding beneath the surface. The teachings of Jeung San Do offer a profound framework to understand these converging crises—not as random events, but as signs of Gaebyeok, the Great Transformation of Heaven and Earth.

Over a century ago, Sangjenim, the Ruler of the Universe, foretold this time with clarity:
“In the future, the West will be inundated by water.
Japan will be struck by fire, and the West will be struck by water.”
(Dojeon 2:96)

🔥 1. Earth in Turmoil: Fire and Flood

We now see record global temperatures (2023–2025), rising sea levels, and climate chaos. From megafires in Canada and Australia to floods across Europe and the U.S., the balance of nature is breaking. Japan, located on volatile tectonic plates, faces intensifying volcanic and seismic threats—echoing the warning: struck by fire.

“When the world is struck by fire, the mountains and fields will turn crimson.
You will be too overwhelmed to even snatch your precious children from harm’s way.”
(Dojeon 2:96)

This isn't poetry—it’s a lived reality for those facing wildfire evacuations, earthquakes, and environmental collapse.

⚔️ 2. War and Global Breakdown

“At the coming of the time, a world war will erupt.
At that time, war will not be stopped by human actions—it will be stopped only by a disease.”
(Dojeon 2:96)

From Ukraine to Gaza, we are in an era of geopolitical disintegration. Trust among nations erodes. The post-WWII order is collapsing. And behind the scenes, tensions between superpowers continue to rise—suggesting the possibility of a much broader conflict.

But Sangjenim reveals a paradoxical truth: even this war will not end by force, but by disease. It is the disease, not diplomacy, that will bring the world to a halt.

🦠 3. The Great Disease: Humanity’s Final Test

“Of all the disasters, the disaster of disease will be the most devastating.”
(Dojeon 2:96)

The pandemic we experienced through COVID-19 is only a foreshadowing. Experts warn of zoonotic diseases, antibiotic resistance, and the rise of engineered or unknown viruses.

Sangjenim continues:
“If a magnificent world is to be, the world’s illnesses must first be cleansed away by the catastrophic disease. Only through the catastrophic disease will the world be united.”
(Dojeon 2:96)

This "catastrophic disease" is not merely a threat—it is a cosmic catalyst for purification and unification. Only after the disease sweeps away the divisions, impurities, and corruptions of the old world can a new, luminous civilization be born.

🌸 The Path Through Gaebyeok: Return to the Flower of Light

In this chaotic turning point, Seollyeohwa Meditation, the Meditation of the Flower of Divine Light, offers a way forward—not just to survive, but to transform. It helps us align with the original light of the universe and become who we were always meant to be: beings of light.

Through this practice, we awaken our true spirit, connect to the cosmic breath, and prepare for the autumn of the cosmic year—a time of return, harvest, and renewal.

✨ Gaebyeok Is Not the End

It is the beginning of a new world.
To pass through Gaebyeok, we must walk through fire, endure the flood, and survive the fever.
And we must choose the path of light.

🌸 Now is the time to awaken—not just to survive the transformation, but to lead it. Begin your journey with the Flower of Light.
